Fittings are crimped on the ends of the hydraulic hose. They can be straight, or angled at 90o or 45o, they can swivel or not. We carry standard thread designs, including NPTF (National Pipe Thread Fuel), SAE, JIC (Joint Industry Council), and O-ring Face Seal fittings. Our stock fittings are compatible with our stock hoses, and we can get any fittings that we don’t stock.
NPTF (National Pipe Thread Fuel)
NPTF threads are most easily identified by a taper on the male and female sides that seal when they are connected. It is easiest to see the taper on the male side of the connection. Measure the maximum OD on the male side or maximum ID on the female side to get the right size fitting.
SAE 45o (Society of Automotive Engineers)
SAE 45o straight threads and flare fittings have a 45o flare seat on both the male and female connectors. A seal is formed when the flared seats are engaged.
JIC 37o (Joint Industry Council)
The JIC 37o flare fitting has straight threads and a 37o flare seat on both the male and female connectors. The threads hold the connectors together with the seal forming when the seats are engaged.
O-Ring Face Seal
The O-Ring Face Seal fitting has straight threads with an O-ring on the flat face end of the male connector. The O-ring seals against a flat surface on the female side.
