Custom Assemblies

We specialize in custom hydraulic hoses. It will help us if you can also provide the following information:

  • Identify the type and size of hose you need. Look closely at your hose and there will be identifying letters and numbers printed or etched on the hose. Look for the letters “SAE” followed by some numbers and letters. We stock hoses SAE 100R2, SAE 100R12, and SAE 100R4 in a variety of sizes. The printing will also indicate the size of the hose. Sometimes it might be clearly shown, in others you can figure it out from the numbers after the SAE type. For instance, in the image below, the “-6” means 6/16ths, or 3/8. That number is always the number of 1/16ths, so an “8” would be 8/16 =1/2 and so on.
  • If your hose type does not match one of the hoses that we stock, try to match the size and working pressure for your equipment application using the charts on the Hose page.
  • Measure the length of your hose from end to end. Include the fittings in the measurement to provide a total length.
  • Identify the fittings that you need crimped on each end. The fittings will be angled 90o ,45o , or straight. An important consideration is the thread design on the end that will connect to an adaptor, or to your equipment. See our Fittings page for the stock thread designs and fittings we carry. If you are not sure which thread design you have, take your fitting to a friendly hardware store and try various screws, bolts or nuts until you find the one that fits.
  • Gather as much of the information above that you can, then bring your hose to our shop and we will be able to make a replacement.
